The font in the GTK2 version for Ubuntu/XWindow uses Medium instead of Regular.

Environment:
OS: Ubuntu 24.04.
Session: XWindow
Desktop: Xfce4 - 4.18
CudaText: GTK2 Build - 1.232.0.1-1_gtk2_amd64

Steps to reproduce:
Select document font - Ubuntu Mono
(In addition to Regular, it also has Medium)

Actual result:
The font is displayed in semibold (Medium):

But if you add a tab at the end of the line, it drops down a little and becomes normal weight.

Expected result:
The font should be of normal weight.

Notes:
In version 1.230.0.0-1_gtk2, everything is OK.

yes we discussed this 'change' with user. I cannot change the fold-weight via Cairo API, don't know how, sorry. this is specific to gtk2 version. with the font DejaVu Mono, issue is not visible (maybe it is visible only when font has several weigth versions).

maybe this report is interesting to author of related gtk2 code, @AlexanderBagel
