Has anyone gotten a Brother printer to work?

I got one of my two to work by manually installing the driver and a missing dependency long enuf to print a test page but then it stopped working.

I have never tried a distro where a Brother printer did not work out of the box.

The other problem I had was black text on the taskbar turning white in light mode making it unreadable.

What do you mean by:

Seems clear to me. In dark mode the text is supposed to be white and in light mode the text is supposed to be black.

Mine would randomly change to white in light mode. I could fix it by turning the taskbar off/on.

Maybe one of my extensions was screwing something up.

BTW, I can't take a screenshot cuz I can't use Anduin cuz my printers don't work.

Since there are many complaints about printers,
I’m considering embedding the printer-driver-all package in the image.

However, this would increase the image size by about 100 MB.
Before making that decision, I need to confirm whether installing printer-driver-all would actually resolve most printer-related issues.

Could you please try running:

sudo apt install printer-driver-all

And see if the problem is mitigated? This helps the decision.
