I had a similar issue with keybinds— in my case the problem was that Hyprland was loading the wrong config. My main config wasn’t the Ambxst one.
I fixed it by using a separate config and just linking Ambxst like this:

source = ~/.local/share/ambxst/hyprland.conf

So Ambxst stays as base, and my actual config (with keybinds) is loaded on top. After that, overrides worked fine

source = path/to/hyprland.conf does load other hyprland configurations
