Thanks for the feedback! How Smart Resize currently works:
In your Firefox + VLC scenario:
Why We're Being ConservativeThe 30% limit is there to keep windows from becoming unusably small. Some apps (like terminals or text editors)just don't work well below a certain size. I'm thinking of a better way to handle this, instead of having a min resize ratio. But for now, you can change it manually and rebuild Mosaic WM. |

It would be nice if there was some way to control how aggressively "Smart Resize" is used in comparison to "Intelligent Overflow"—like a CLI option or an extension setting.
In my use, most applications just get moved to a new workspace. I then have to do a bit resizing and then move the new application back into the current workspace.
One example is if I have Firefox open to fill the screen and I open something like VLC, I expect Firefox to be resized to make space for VLC. But, VLC always gets sent to another workspace. I then have to resize Firefox and then move VLC back to the current workspace. And sometimes I have to repeat this process if I didn't resize Firefox small enough.
Making this as a discussion because it's not necessarily a bug, and preferred UX is rather opinion-based.
