If you want to extend Red's functionality, it sounds like you want to make a cog. Cogs are standalone extensions to Red that are coded in Python, specifically using the discord.py library. Our guide for creating cogs for red can be found here:

If you want to use Red, you will need to selfhost an instance. Our install guides list the steps you need to follow based on the OS you want to install on. We do not support running Red via a browser host like REPL.IT. Once you have Red running, you can make a cog to add custom commands. If you need more support, please join our discord server.
