I am not sure if the cart service factors in that Redis could be behind authn. This is common in scenarios where you want to use a managed Redis service from a vendor.
What purpose/environment will this feature serve?
You can connect the cart service to any Redis server whether it is managed or just a deployment/statefulset in a Kubernetes cluster.
