Description
These are things I noticed during assembly that I thought may have some room for improvement, or not. I'm planning to amend this issue as I go.
- I think the foot part should have embedded nuts. Mine tap holes were very loose. These could be slotted in from the side.
- I missed the part about embedding nuts during 3D printing. This is cool, but its a huge manual step that is not amenable to e.g. manufacturing of several hundred 3D printed components. I think I would prefer just having a spot for embedding a hex or square nut with glue post print.
- Screws that are used as spring tensioners should probably be semi threaded with their threads not in contact with clearance holes (my build is a bit jacked, so this might be an overblown comment that goes away).
- There is a very common type of brass lead nut for T8 lead screws that does not fit onto the waterjet cut pattern. It might be good to support this mounting pattern along with the 3-screw version for the Stepper Online plastic lead nut.
