GSoC: How to get started with MDAnalysis/WESTPA progress monitoring project?

I am a student preparing for GSoC and I am interested in the project about creating a GUI to monitor WESTPA simulation progress using MDAnalysis streaming.

I am currently learning MDAnalysis and WESTPA and would like to start contributing.
