Well the error message is pretty explicit: Your version of Qt6 is too old. Or, if you think you have installed a version 6.8.0 or later, it is not found as it is not in the path. Depending on your system, which you failed to mention, installing a more recent version can be quite a pain. And then you have to get all the other dependencies right. As a newbie quite a challenge. I would recommend to try if the precompiled packages work for you. |

Hi,
Thanks for all your work on this fine project.
Some feedback and questions based on Debian13.4's 1.20.01 backport (Gnome).
* I'm missing the maps license info that formerly was displayed on
mouse-over, as my maps have creation dates included there. Has that
been removed intentionally?
* In general I feel there is quite some mismatch in icon sizes
o the visibility (active) indicators of maps and DEM and
project/element/DB icons are quite huge. There are no such icons
for POIs.
+ without status-line (fontsize: none) for workspace projects
and elements, workspaces elements iconsize shrinks to
smallest size (see below), but not workspaces projects size
+ although I couldn't find status-line options for DBs, their
icons and status-icons stay huge instead of always using
small icons or at least following the workspace behaviour to
reduce scrolling.
o menu icons show up medium/as usual (~ 1/2)
o the visibility, starring and save toggles of workspace elements
(state?) are the smallest (~ 1/4)
Are there tweaking options for the graphical changes I didn't find?
* As far as I remember, formerly it was possible to manually sort
elements within projects (by dragging to order), p. e. to adjust
visibility/draw-order for (partly) identical elements. This does no
longer work here, but triggers copying.
ATM I can only sort manually (mis-)using rating. Dragging maps, DEM
and projects to order still works. Databases seem to be ordered by
invocation only, dragging only extends selection.
Am I confusing options here because I needed sorting of elements
just now? Could dragging workspace project elements to order be a
feature request then or are there means to accomplish individual
order except using rating?
* Sorting of elements by rating seems to be individual between DB and
workspace sorting. Compare first two visible workspace items vs.
their DB representation, both having 4 stars.
All in sync using sorting by name, different too when using time w/o timestamps present.

* Would it be possible to include the loaded maps (map folder
selection) into the mapview save/load feature?
At times I'm working on significantly different projects
simultaneously. Some maps are almost always required, but loading to
many at a time makes selecting/toggling way less convenient. At the
moment I'm already creating mapset folders with symlinks to the maps
by project. Ordered by numbering the symlinks. But to be loaded
separately to the respective mapview.
Thanks, Felix

Thanks for your reply.
You're right, I still (or again?) had minimal fontsize for projects status line.
Not critical but mainly cosmetics and maybe some more searching.
Hadn't been aware of the -c option ;-). Will try. |

So far seems to perfectly address my working w/ different projects. Thanks! Any risks to be aware of, p. e. on program updates? |

I always try to be backward compatible with new updates but never downward compatible. If you jump between versions I recommend to create backup copies. |
