This is the first public alpha release of Ferret v2. It introduces the foundation of the new runtime and embedding model and is intended for early adopters who want to explore the new architecture and provide feedback. This release is not yet considered stable, and some APIs may still change before the final v2 release.
What’s new
Too much has changed to fit here comfortably. More detailed write-ups will follow in dedicated blog posts.
Very briefly:
new v2 runtime and architecture
new syntax features
new embedding API
web drivers moved to a separate contrib repository
What’s not ready yet
At this stage, the focus is mainly on integration and stability. A few important things are still in progress:
the API is still subject to change
documentation is still minimal
some language and runtime features are not implemented yet
debugger and advanced tooling are not included yet
browser-related integrations are still catching up with the new architecture
Feedback
This release is primarily about early feedback. If you try it, reports about issues, rough edges, and API ergonomics are especially welcome.
This discussion was created from the release v2 Alpha 1.
