oncodrive: Error in if (pchange[pchange %in% colnames(dat)] > 0)

Hi there,
I'm interested to use oncodrive.

mafs_datatable = lapply(X = maf_files, function(x){
  data.table::fread(file = x, sep = "\t", select = required.fields, skip = "Hugo_Symbol")
})

mafs = data.table::rbindlist(l = mafs_datatable, use.names = TRUE, fill = TRUE, idcol = "Source_MAF")

mafs_read = maftools::read.maf(maf = mafs, removeDuplicatedVariants = FALSE)
oncodrive(mafs_read, minMut = 5, pvalMethod = 'zscore')

I know oncodrive is outdated. I do not have clinical information. These are cancer MAFs data.
I get error as:

Estimating background scores from synonymous variants..
Error in if (pchange[pchange %in% colnames(dat)] > 0) { :
argument is of length zero
