After running Win11Debloat, my friend can't sign into their Microsoft account or Xbox.

Describe the issue

Hello. I am a user of this script. I stopped using it for a while. but always recommended it to my friends and other people in need. Recently, my irl friend got a new PC, and I suggested that he use this, and he followed up with it. He selected the usuals,like remove edge, remove edge tracking, remove edge telemetry and a few more that I can't remember. After the script ran, we both noticed that the Xbox icon had disappeared . He has an Xbox shortcut on his desktop and it turned into the white file icon. I don't recall him selecting anything about removing xbox services / the app it's self.. we tried reinstalling it, and using an Xbox app/service repair tool,And now, when they try to log in, a gray screen appears for a few seconds, no text fields, then the login window crashes (the app stays open). This repeats in an infinite loop, basically every time you try to login with a Microsoft account anywhere it just shows a gray screen, then crashes, rendering the account completely unusable.

Steps to reproduce

1. I'll add much more information here later, as I'm writing this in a hurry. However,try attempting to tinker with the Xbox services and the dvr stuff.

Thanks for the detailed report. I see you've already done some quite extensive troubleshooting here. I can't think of any specific option in Win11Debloat that could be the culprit here. It seems like a related Windows component is either removed or broken. It could also be some network related thing, but it's hard to say.

Did you guys use any other tools/programs that make changes to Windows, or maybe a modded ISO?

If you haven't already, the steps below will check for and fix any missing/corrupted system files or windows components.

Check for corrupt system files

1. Open Command Prompt as administrator. (Important)
2. Copy & paste the command below, and hit Enter.

sfc /scannow

3. Wait for the tool to find/fix any corrupt system files.

Fix Windows image issues

1. Open Command Prompt as administrator. (Important)
2. Copy & paste the command below, and hit Enter.

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth

3. Wait for the tool to find any issues. This can take a minute or two.
4. If any issues are detected. Copy & paste the command below, and hit Enter.

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

5. Wait for the tool to fix the issues.

We used one other thing, that was just to remove Edge and WebView (we eventually reinstalled WebView, only that) and get rid of his Edge user data. What we used was GitHub Repo he3als/EdgeRemover. I've used that for a while aswell, and I have had no issues with it. I don't see how that could be a lead in anything.

My friend recently got a new computer, and it's had some issues that we were eventually able to fix, but none of the issues were related with tampering any Xbox services. It was just internet issues. Easy fixes. On top of that, he isn't using a custom ISO, he set it up as it was on arrival.

And now that I can remember more, one thing that he did uninstall was an app that was marked as a Legacy service, which we assumed meant that it isn't used anymore,. It had something to do with Xbox Services. But I don't actually see how that could cause a problem, as it's Legacy.

I'll tell him later today to run those commands and see what it comes up with, I'll reply with more info soon. 👍

Also, I noticed you mentioned something about network? When we were fixing the network issues, he had no Wi-Fi drivers and had to install it on a separate USB drive to fix it. I don't really see how that could be an issue though. Just adding this to provide further information. I also heard from someone to check the hosts file and see if any Microsoft services / urls are in there, which I highly doubt there is due to the fact that it isn't really encouraged to do that.

I'm experiencing the same issue. Tried in-place upgrade and system backup recovery. None of them work.
Edit: What i meant by work is that they are not working not like they didn't fix it.

It shows a lot of people having this issue, switching their Windows display language worked.

Settings > Time and language > Language and region > Windows language (set it to English)

Seems to be a longstanding bug in Windows, it's worth a shot to try this.

only 1 language, which is english it's self, and it is already set to english. will try the rest

This version fixes an issue with MS Account sign-in that was introduced recently, it may be the issue you are experiencing.
