@mscudlik Can you provide more context what exactly is your scenario?

Introducing a colspan, we would be able to use this as a "master/detail" / expandable table in combination with the treetable feature.

Basically a treetable with only 1 child level and in the detail (1st level child) is a component with full colspan.
The navigation feature is not an option here, as navigating away is somewhat limited to one row/detail.

But since colspan is a native html table attribute it will most likely also be usefull for other usecases as well.

full colspan row looks and sounds a lot similar to existing popping state of the table with the main and secondary type of the rows, where the secondary row has only one column in full table width by using colspan value

p.s. also, table cell group row (fd-table__cell--group) is using colspan to strech in full width one column/cell
