I also wanted to know about something:

When VSCode or VSCodium branches get updates, we'll need a way to pull this in or are you planning to diverge fully ?

My other guess is that there should be security audits of certain parts of the cb.

Good questions.

On upstream sync, we diverged intentionally since Electron is fully gone, so we can't rebase cleanly. The plan is to selectively cherry-pick useful upstream changes (editor improvements, bug fixes) as they come, rather than tracking VSCode release-for-release.
