Examples of behavior that contributes to a positive community include:
- Being kind, patient, and respectful.
- Giving and receiving constructive feedback.
- Assuming good intent while remaining accountable for impact.
- Collaborating to reach the best outcome for the project and its users.
- Respecting different skills, backgrounds, experiences, and viewpoints.
- Accepting responsibility, apologizing when appropriate, and learning from mistakes.
- Respecting users' privacy, especially when handling fonts, documents, logs, or other potentially sensitive data.
Examples of unacceptable behavior include:
- Harassment, insults, personal attacks, or derogatory comments.
- Discriminatory language, imagery, or conduct.
- Violence, threats of violence, or encouraging self-harm.
- Sexualized language, imagery, or attention.
- Disruptive trolling or sustained interruption of discussions.
- Publishing another person's private information without explicit permission.
- Intentionally exposing credentials, private font files, user documents, or other confidential data.
- Retaliating against someone who reports a concern or participates in an investigation.
- Any conduct that would reasonably be considered inappropriate in a professional setting.
This Code of Conduct applies in all Sora Type community spaces, including:
- GitHub repositories, issues, pull requests, discussions, and reviews.
- Project documentation and community communication channels.
- Events or other spaces organized by the project.
- Public spaces where a person is officially representing Sora Type or Sora Labs.
Official representation includes using an official project account, acting as an appointed project representative, or otherwise speaking on behalf of the project.
If you experience or witness unacceptable behavior, contact the maintainers of the SoraLabsOSS organization privately through GitHub. Do not disclose sensitive conduct reports in a public issue.
Please include as much relevant information as possible:
- A description of what happened.
- Links, screenshots, dates, and surrounding context.
- Whether the behavior is ongoing.
- Any immediate safety or privacy concerns.
Reports will be reviewed promptly, fairly, and in good faith. Maintainers will protect the reporter's identity and the details of a report as far as reasonably possible, sharing information only when necessary to investigate or respond.
Anyone involved in a report must disclose conflicts of interest and step aside when appropriate. Retaliation against reporters, witnesses, or reviewers is itself a violation of this Code.
Project maintainers are responsible for clarifying and enforcing this Code. They may remove, edit, or reject comments, commits, code, issues, and other contributions that do not align with it.
Maintainers who violate this Code may be held to the same standards and may be temporarily or permanently removed from project responsibilities.
Maintainers will consider the context, severity, impact, and pattern of behavior when deciding on an appropriate response. Possible responses include:
Impact: A minor or first-time issue.
Consequence: A private or public note explaining the issue and requesting a change in behavior. The affected contribution or comment may be edited or removed.
Impact: A significant incident or a pattern of inappropriate behavior.
Consequence: A formal warning that explains the impact of the behavior and sets expectations for future participation. Further violations may result in temporary or permanent restrictions.
Impact: Repeated or serious violations.
Consequence: Temporary limitations on participation, such as restrictions on commenting, contributing, reviewing, or accessing project spaces. During this period, unsolicited contact with people involved in the incident may also be prohibited.
Impact: Severe, sustained, or repeated violations, including harassment, discrimination, threats, doxing, or retaliation.
Consequence: Permanent removal from Sora Type community spaces and project participation.
If you believe an enforcement decision was made in error or was unfair, you may ask the maintainers privately to reconsider it and provide additional context.
When possible, an appeal will be reviewed by a maintainer who was not responsible for the original decision and has no conflict of interest. Decisions following an appeal are final.
