Issues understanding auth_mode

Hello! I have been trying to use the device_auth feature and encountered a few problems with the strict mode while using rauc on a raspberrypi4:
when using setup mode the device auth_token is pulled into the database as normal and is used for the device, however when using strict mode, despite having the exact same token on rauc (in config.conf in rauc-hawkbit-updater) as in goosebit.yaml, there seemed to be issues, as in the token was not even copied to the database and was always blank for the device. Am I doing something wrong here?

Solved.
The updated documentation tells that the tokens must be provided through the management API in strict mode.
