Device Creation on GET REST API request

When I am accessing the goosebit server via REST API access, i can request the devices or a specific device using the following:
curl -X GET http://:60053/api/v1/devices/
-H "Authorization: Bearer
-H "Accept: application/json"

When i use a device name that has not been registered yet and does not exist in the database, it actually CREATES a new entry in the database. Is that behavior expected?

I'm not sure this is intended, it's being caused by the get_device method on the device manager.

Maybe that should be renamed to get_or_create_device, then we can have get_devicewhich may return None?

Only noticed that peculiarity while trying out the REST API, so decided to ask if that is intended so you can change it if it was not.
