Is there a general calculation formula for the local storage space and memory usage of victoriatraces? The machine configuration is at least 16C32G1T, and the storage time is 1-3 days.

We should definitely add this to the doc. I'm on vacation and can't do large experiment on this, I will suggest you to test it with your own dataset and instrumentation apps.

In the mean time, I think you can check the monitoring of our VictoriaTraces cluster playground environment.

• The disk space usage was increased from 1.02 GB to 1.67 GB for the last 7 days.
• The total rows in storage was increased from 16.3M to 26.4M for the last 7 days.

So roughly 10 million rows for 600 MB, for disk space usage. Note that this 10 million rows contains both index for each trace_id and raw spans. So I think you can calculate with 8 million spans for 600 MB space. But it also depends on how many span in each trace in your environment.

In short, I'm going to label this issue as an enhancement request, and we can see how to improve the doc later.
