Alternate Select For Dmenu Shell Script

I know Walker has the ability to set different binds per provider. But I was wondering if there is a way in the Dmenu provider to allow there to be an alternate select option that get identified in the shell script itself to then allow the script to determine what to do.

I had this functionality in rofi, but I have been so happy with Walker. Here is how I had things configured in rofi.

## Run
rofi \
    -dmenu -i -p "$query" \
    -theme-str "window  {width:  $width;}" \
    -kb-accept-custom "" \
    -kb-custom-1 "Control+Return" \
    -theme ${dir}/${theme}.rasi

This allowed me to then use the "Control+Return" as an alternative selection method using the rofi exit code shown here:

rofi_output=$(printf "%s\n" "${entries[@]}" | ~/.config/rofi/launchers/scripts/launcher.sh "Search:" "600px")
rofi_exit=$?
selected_input="$rofi_output"

I am not too sure how this works exactly, but was wondering if there is any current solution to this?

it is NOT possible using dmenu, however: walker/elephant allow you to create proper custom menus, see here:
