sponsorblock doesn't work with screen off

Sponsorblock on Firefox 143.04 watching YouTube in desktop mode on Samsung Galaxy tab s7+ tablet running android 13.

When listening to a video (like a podcast or documentary) with the screen off the video stops and never resumes when a segment comes up. If I open the tablet I see a spinning loading icon and then the video resumes. This happens regardless of the time waiting with the screen off for the video to resume.

I think this is a bug with the latest Firefox for Android unrelated to SponsorBlock. whenever you pause a video while it is in the background, you cannot resume it
