Hi,
for the past few weeks I’ve been getting a message that says “Check batteries of GW1100A WH25 Battery.”

Yes, I have a GW1100A gateway, and it appears to have a built-in temperature/humidity sensor called the WH25. However, this device is powered exclusively via USB, and there doesn’t appear to be a replaceable or rechargeable battery inside.

Even restarting the gateway (by turning off the power) didn’t change the alert (see above).

Are there any specific suggestions on how to resolve this?

Hi, that's an ecowitt device which I have myself which are a real pain as all the remote sensors appear under the gateway.
Assuming this is your standard automation notification that you've set up yourself from within Battery Notes then it's probably the case that when you added the battery note for a remote sensor you didn't change the name to identify it as the particular remote sensor.
Go into settings, integration, Battery Notes and look down the list for any you spot as being the ecowitt, then look at it's setup and see what actual battery it's measuring (soil moisture 1 for example) and rename it to be that.
Or just delete the whole ecowitt battery note if you don't want to track it at all.

That's exactly the point: I don't have any Battery-Notes entries that could in any way correspond to ecowitt devices (I have numerous DP100 soil moisture sensors); that's why I'm asking here.

That's really odd, if it's not in the list of Battery Notes then it can't be it that's giving the alarm.

Battery Notes will never raise an alarm itself unless you've setup an automation/blueprint, and the suggested automations/blueprints don't have a message of "Check batteries..."

Could you have something else giving the alarm? There's lots of ecowitt integrations and I don't know if any of them have that built in.

No, but after several restarts, the message hasn't reappeared so far... I'll keep an eye on it
