about the lock screen

SomeWM recently implemented a lock screen API. Could this be ported to AwesomeWM?
The lock screen API is indeed useful. With it, we can directly reuse existing components to implement the lock screen interface, rather than using i3lock, slock, and the like.

You mean making a module where you can use the widgets and everything or using some Wayland protocols to ask to lock?

Using wibox for locking might be cool, but from experience, it's also a CVE mess. It's really, really hard to get this right while still running in the same process as Awesome. I am not opposed, but I don't think it would that that simple
