Should support for the PHP module be removed?

This module technically supports PHP being used for the conditions but allowing this is a security concern.
The PHP module exists, but has no release, and no plans to ever release it as people are discouraged from using it as much as possible.

Should the PHP module support be maintained to support upgrades that include this, or is it so rarely used that it can be safely removed?

How many of the target audience for this module would use PHP?

Would an easy to use API to allow custom conditions, be a better alternative?

I don't feel too strongly about this.

Keeping the PHP options makes it consistant with the Drupal 7 version, which is something we cared about in the past, but may care less about at this time.

I do agree, that the PHP option is probably not necessary for most people who use this module. I use this module occasionally, but have never used the PHP option.

I think an interesting idea would be if you could "hide" the PHP option on new installs, that would maintain backward capability. Or you could have a setting to enable the PHP option, have it set to OFF on new site but ON for existing sites by defaul. Then, you could put a strong warning next to the setting - making it clear that it should ONLY be used by experts as it is dangerous.

My biggest concern for removing it, would be backward compatability and breaking sites that might have upgraded from Drupal with this module in mind.

Another thought, would be to create a message on the "Status" page that flags site using PHP and recommending that they disable it for security reasons. Maybe even warning them that the feature might be deprecated in the future.

I would remove it personally and try to provide ways for people to do what they need to do without it.

I've never used PHP for CSS Injector, so I wouldn't miss it.
