Multiple organizations under one user

How do I enable my bicapital setup to include multiple organizations under one user and switch between them.

We implemented full multi-tenant user support, allowing a single login to manage multiple organisations —
something that's been on the Bigcapital roadmap since 2024.

How it works: When you sign in with an email that belongs to one organisation, you get logged in directly (no
change from before). When your email belongs to multiple organisations, you're shown a selection screen to pick
which one to enter. Once inside, you can switch between organisations from the sidebar dropdown without
re-entering your password, and you can create new organisations from within your session.

Just like Xero!

What we built:

• A user_tenants join table replacing the old 1:1 user-to-tenant relationship
• A two-step signin flow — authenticate first, then pick your tenant (with a short-lived pre-auth token for
  security)
• Tenant switching, default tenant selection, and in-session tenant creation via new API endpoints
• A tenant selector page and a sidebar org switcher in the React frontend
• Auto-provisioning of the free subscription for self-hosted installs so new organisations go straight to the
  setup wizard

Backward compatible — existing single-tenant users see zero change in behaviour. The JWT now includes the tenant
context in the signed payload, preventing cross-tenant access via header spoofing.

I did make direct contact with the maintainers and the interest show was financially based only so a fork it is and as we will be using it for our business we will just continue to develop it ourselves and if anyone is interested we would welcome a community.

The fork will be live after Easter with a companion site, we will at this stage NOT be providing a hosted/paid version of the application it will be self host only, and we will be making substantial changed to the docker deployment.
