App does not attempt reconnect when 'backgrounded' for long periods of time

When app is background on Lan and then opened on wan Connect does not automatically reconnect and displays old image. This this case I left the app in the background and when I opened it back the image was still "stuck" and didn't refresh (I waited 5 minutes, see attachments).

Tested on iOS
