images copied by wl-copy command can't be pasted to external software

enviroment

• OS: Arch linux(Endeavour OS)
• compositor: labwc 0.9.1
• DE: lxqt-session 2.2.1
• clipboard: wl-clipboard 2.2.1
• clipboard manager: cliphist 0.6.1

expected behaviour

i should able to paste images that copied by wl-copy in external softwares, not only by wl-paste.

actual behaviour

only wl-paste and clipboard history manager like cliphist can see the image contents.

steps to reproduce

1. copy a image from command line.

$ wl-copy < IMG_20250813_165827.jpg

2. check it is in the clipboard

$ wl-paste -l
image/jpeg

3. paste it in Discord, Firefox, etc, by pressing Ctrl+v.

• it does not work.

4. make a screenshot from Firefox with Firefox's builtin screenshot tool and copy to clipboard.
5. paste it in other websites with Firefox, or paste in other software like Discord.

• somehow it works?

interestingly it works for .png images ... so as a temporary fix you could just force the mime type like this:

wl-copy -t image/png < your_image.jpg

I fixed the issue by copying the whole file see: #263 (comment)
