Track how many items have been fed to horse

Need someone to look into how we can track how many items have been fed to the horse. This would setup some future things like being able to make the horse "poop" at a certain interval depending on how much food he has eaten.

Anyone have any ideas how we could do this and not only track it client side? Would like a global count.
