Hi, thank you for the suggestion. However, I’ve received a similar request before (#1081), and I decided not to implement the typewriter feature back then. It seemed like it would be too much for a simple, general-purpose plain-text editor. |

Hello all,
My name is François, I am from Paris. For years, I have been using a number of text editors on Mac (and Linux and Windows, too), mainly BBEdit and iAWriter. I discovered CotEditor recently (january of this year), and I am using a lot since then.
I appreciate the split window mode, but I was wondering if a typewriter mode for text entering would be possible ? The idea is well known (and can be seen in software like iAWriter or Scrivener.
In Typewriter mode, the text insertion point stays in the center of the screen, with the document scrolling up as you type, rather than the document staying fixed and the insertion point moving to the bottom.
Well guys, this is an idea.... and I think it could be useful when writing texts in LatTeX or markdown (for example).
François
