Since at least on linux/osx, you're relying on system python, why not go one level higher and manage your own python version in addition? Since you're using uv, it's a relatively clean switch over to pixi to grab everything you need off conda-forge. Additional benefit is you can also pull in other packages that are not on pypi or don't have pre-built wheels.
