First time using Fre:ac - started with v1.1.6, updated to v1.1.7...
I am not fully understanding how to setup Fre:ac to rip a music CD to MP3 files on my local HDD. I want all the tracks to be separate files, and to set all ripped tracks to a specific audio quality bitrate of 192Kbs. What I get are "quiet" sounding tracks (low volume) and the Bitrates are random (some are 201Kbs, some are 126Kbs, etc.) - Selected "LAME MP3 Encoder v3.100"
What do I need to do to setup Fre:ac to get the best volume level (even volume level across all encoded tracks), and to uniform the Bitrate? I am using this to make an archive of all my physical music compact disc collection if (heaven forbid) I were to lose my collection (1,000+ CDs) to fire, theft, etc. That way, I at least will have a digital backup of them all. Need to setup Fre:ac so I can just pop-in CD after CD into my optical drive and get flawless rips. Used to do this with Windows Media Player, but Microsoft has discontinued support for CD Rips - which brought me to Fre:ac.
