Hello everyone,

I hope this is the right place for this kind of discussion.

I am a software developer and a big Open Source enthusiast. I am also an active member of a HEMA club. I recently started exploring this project to use it for tournaments for my club, and I feel like it’s a perfect match for us!

Our Context i plan to use the software for two main scenarios:

• Long-running internal leagues: A "season" lasts about 6 months, using the Swiss System, where fights take place across various training days throughout the year.
• Single Events: Standard tournaments hosted internally or externally.

I'm currently testing the software and my club will be running a small demo tournament soon. During my testing, I noticed a few missing features that would make the software work much better for our specific needs.

My Proposal I would love to contribute and implement these features myself via Pull Requests. However, before I invest a lot of time coding, I want to align with you to ensure these ideas fit the project's general vision and roadmap (and to avoid my PRs being rejected later).

Here is the list of features/changes I have in mind:

• Multi-day Tournaments: This is very common in HEMA (and our 6-month league). Currently, it seems tournaments can only be set for a single day. (A littlebit mentioned here Proposal for Enhancements to the Project #691 and a bit here Custom start time for matches RFC #519)
• Initial ELO for Swiss System: When adding participants, there is no UI to set an initial ELO/Seeding rating. This is crucial for us to import existing ELOS from HEMA ranking website or to maintain a continuous internal club ranking across seasons.
• Persistent Rankings: Related to the above—a leaderboard that persists across multiple tournaments would be a great general addition.
• Individual Competitors (1vs1): Currently, it seems only "Teams" can compete. We can work around this by creating a team for every single fighter, but native support for individual players would be cleaner. (Already mentioned here Why are teams required? #580)
• Referee/Judge Management: It would be very useful to manage referees and potentially have a dedicated view for them (e.g., for tablet use) to input results and scores directly. Displaying the referee's name on the dashboard would also be nice. (Already mentioned here Proposal for Enhancements to the Project #691)
• Custom Scoring Systems: HEMA tournaments can have complex point systems. It would be great to have the possibility to add "Custom" scoring rules beyond just Win/Loss/Draw for a dedicated tournament.
• Ruleset Display: A section on the public tournament dashboard where we can post the specific rules for the players to see.
• Livestream Integration: The ability to add a specific livestream URL per match, which viewers can access directly from the dashboard.
• Manual Scheduling Overrides: The ability to manually change the date and time for specific matches within a bracket. (Mentioned here Custom start time for matches RFC #519)

These are my rough ideas for now.

Next Steps Should I go ahead and open individual issues/discussions for these points to track them? I am happy to start working on them depending on your feedback. (even python is not my main language working with :D)
