Feedback on position?

Thanks for this amazing work!
Does the pan-tilt had provide feedback on its position? Or maybe other models from same company? I would like to write my own code to command the head to specific position directly rather than by consecutive "keypresses".

Or does it have at least fixed start positions? In a project of mine I controlled a pan-tilt camera which did not have feedback, so if I had to set it to a specific position I moved it to "start positions" and counted from there.

No rotary encoders on this unit, so there's no absolute positioning (would be great if it did).
Initial positioning doesn't really work because the movements aren't discrete so sometimes moving left by 1 degree might take (e.g. 3 movements), other times it takes (eg) 4
