FR: SVG output

Given that an AI image generation model is used to create an illustration of appropriate contrast and type, a conversion step can be used as a post process to generate a vector file. These vector files can be easily used in a illustration editor or for scalable display on a website or other applications. Tools such as https://github.com/visioncortex/vtracer may be used. Proposed is a flag such as --vector and/or --svg and parameters such as vector-style such as: Enhancement Styles:

logo - Minimalist logo designs with clean edges
icon - Simple, single-color icons
illustration - Flat vector illustrations
silhouette - Bold black silhouettes
badge - Circular badge/emblem designs

other post processing of an output image may be achieved with ffmpeg or similar.

I have implemented this in my own toolset and it was very easy and useful. Great for outputting vectors and generating controlnet cannies

Cool idea! Have never actually tried this, but have definitely used mflux to generate logos on multiple occasions (but I have removed backgrounds and done tweaks in Photoshop or Pixelmator separately).

Maybe this is hard to quantify but how reliable are these tools right now? E.g does it work only 50% of the time, do you get any visual artefacts/errors in the PNG -> SVG translations etc (I guess it may depend on how complex the logo is etc?).

It is very reliable; however, it requires configuration and good prompting to ensure grouping, segmentation, and enclosed shapes. Vtracer is very good for conversions and is configurable.

Interesting, I feel like I would have to give this a try! I noted that vtracer hasn't been updated in roughly 2 years, so then maybe this is more or less a solved problem?, or there might exist even more advanced approaches out there...

I would think and hope an ai could speak postscript and output an svg as a native result... haven't really found one yet but as a Mac based business tool vtracer suffices. Converting to vector is a very old need for productivity tools. If you find a better way, let me know. My implementation is inelegant but functional.
