Can't plot over road previously plotted

Plotting a road cycling route. When going back down the road home (same one I started out on) it won't let me plot the route home. I just get 3 options (split, start route here or remove point)
Not sure if this is a bug or I'm just doing something wrong.
Can anyone help?

I don't think that's an actual bug, it's just that clicking on a plot only gives those three options, no matter where the plot is. I'm taking advantage of this issue to suggest a "close the loop" option, which would automatically put the next route point exactly at the route's start point.

Close the loop is fine and a good idea but this existing issue also means you can't double back on any section within a plotted route.

I mean, you can, but not via the exact same plot, right?
