Describe the goal of the project.
The aim of the project is to determine the effect of the pandemic on the "happy planet index".
Describe the data used or collected.
The dataset was compiled using open polls and datasets from the UN, York University and other sources. It contains 760 observations and 12 variables. The variables in the data set include the country, the "happy planet index", the average wellbeing of the people in the country, and gdp etc.
Describe how the research question will be answered, e.g. what approaches / methods will be used.
The question will be answered using visualisations, by looking at how variables change over time for different countries, and then comparing the general trend before the pandemic to the year of the pandemic.
Is there anything that is unclear from the proposal?
The project method is a bit unclear, which variables are necessary to have in the new dataset and the graphs? Also what type of visualisations will be best for showing the change over time?
Provide constructive feedback on how the team might be able to improve their project.
Could plan to use summary statistics so the audience can see the proper numbers involved in the visualisations a bit more easily.
What aspect of this project are you most interested in and would like to see highlighted in the presentation.
The effects of the pandemic on the economy was talked about a lot during 2020, it would be very interesting to see what effect this has had globally, compared to the trend before the pandemic.
Provide constructive feedback on any issues with file and/or code organization.
The dataset used has quite a lot of categorical variables which are filled out by people in a poll, this may not be the most accurate as a persons perception could be different in different countries.
