We might need a troubleshooting step/page for Selector Gadget (basing this on the fact that I couldn't figure out how to get it to work!). Before the little plug icon appears, you need to "pin" the extension from the extensions menu (the little puzzle piece icon). Alternatively, the bookmarklet option seems to work fairly well on Firefox.
