Feature Request: OpenDyslexic Font Support and AI-Powered Article Summarization #1037

I also felt the need for summarization today, but rather for my unread articles in a given feed. I follow this milblogger through the RSS feed of his Bluesky and he can make over 30 posts a day, so it would be useful if there was some sort of summarization of what happened that is important. For this specifically, I don't think any AI feature would be necessary, but rather just some sort of share/copy feature for the text of the unread articles combined. I could then easily send this to my AI app of choice. Article summarization, as mentioned by OP, would also be useful, but I know that this would add a huge layer of work to @jocmp. In the meantime, similarly to what I described above, the user can just select all text in the article, and use the share button of the contextual menu to send to an installed AI app. For example, I'm not sure if it requires the paid subscription (which I do have), but the Kagi app has a dedicated "Summarize" shortcut. |

AI-Powered Article Summarization is very interesting to me. Some content is optimized for SEO, include too much fluff or are just too long. Specially with how much content we can get bombarded every single day. So summarization per-article and maybe be able to talk about the subject of an article with AI could greatly improve RSS experience. There are open-source apps like https://github.com/a-ghorbani/pocketpal-ai running AI 100% on device, if that helps. |

Also a great idea. Freshrss already has extensions that allow this. But for capy reader, I'm unable to pull this AI summary into the app, so I'm hoping for a native implementation that allows me to use my own OpenRouter AI or OpenAI compatible api to allow for AI summary. |

Hello Capy Reader team,First of all, thank you for creating such a wonderful open-source RSS reader! I’ve tried many programs, and I’ve settled on Capy Reader as the one that best meets my needs. I truly appreciate the effort you put into this project and how you take the community’s feedback into account via GitHub issues.
I’d like to suggest two features that I believe would greatly enhance the experience for users like me:
1-)Support for OpenDyslexic Font in the Font Options
As someone with ADHD and dyslexia, I find that the OpenDyslexic font significantly improves readability and reduces strain while reading. This font is not just a preference but a necessity for individuals with these conditions, as it helps make text more accessible. Adding OpenDyslexic to the font selection would make Capy Reader even more inclusive and supportive for users with neurodiverse needs. Since it’s an open-source font, I hope it could be a feasible addition.
2-)AI-Powered Article Summarization Button
It would be amazing to have a feature where users could get a quick summary of an article directly within the app. For example, a button that leverages an AI API (like Google Gemini) could be implemented, allowing users to input their own API key and generate summaries for selected articles. This would save time and make the reading experience more efficient, especially for those of us who follow a lot of feeds.
I’d love to hear your thoughts on these ideas and whether they could be considered for future updates. Thank you again for your hard work—I’m happy to contribute feedback or even test these features if needed!
Best regards,
