Add widget button to reload the entire feeds

I would like to be able to click on a widget button on my home screen that will serve the same job as the reload feeds button from inside the app. Benefits would be enabling users to fetch latest feed in the background without opening the app.
Also adding a progress bar in the status bar to indicate the downloading process of new feeds would be great.
