Druckproblem mit macbook + Mojave

Hallo, ich bin das erste Mal in diesem Forum. Seit über 20 Jahren betreibe ich einige Clipper-Programme auf DOSBox, DOSBox-X, DOSBOX-X-print und Deivaten. Die Druckfunktion der Programme werde meist nur 1x - 3x im Jahr benötigt.
Es gab niemals größere Probleme, vielen Dank für die hervorragende Arbeit!!
Seit 1 Woche versuche ich, jeweils mehrere Stunden am Tag, eine Seite auszudrucken. Ich habe WiKi neu gelesen, im Forum nachgesehen und sogar KI befragt.
Es sollte am MacBook M1 mit Mojave, DOSBox-X 26-01-02, HP 6950 über Airprint in eine Datei gedruckt werden. Das hat vor 3 Monaten gut funktioniert, wurde in eine pdf- Datei bereits mit der gewählten Schriftgrösse geschrieben.
Jetzt habe ich mindestens 20 Versuche mit älteren DOSBox-X und -Print Versionen gestartet, aber immer das Problem, daß die Schrift klein bleibt und die Drucksequenzen mitgedruckt werden.

Please provide your config settings and how you are using the program. Which printer do you have selected in the clipper program, an Epson printer together with the DOSBox-X printer emulation or Postscript printer?

My Clipper program retrieves data from a DBF file and is supposed to output it via AirPrint to the HP OfficeJet 6950.
Clipper does not explicitly specify a printer.

The posted config cannot work. You have the parallel port disabled, the printer emulation disabled, AND you have totally invalid options set (e.g., "printertype" is not a valid option, you cannot set "printoutput" to pdf). Please see the wiki for information on actually supported config settings and their valid options.

Legacy DOS programs typically print to a parallel (centronics) printer, typically connected to LPT1. Most DOS applications have a list of printer drivers to select from, which may include something along the lines of "plain text" for the most simple, to more advanced options like Postscript.

You print workflows will be along these lines:

DOS application supports plain text printing only

• DOS Application -> DOSBox emulated parallel port -> file (plain text/raw output)

I've been testing many examples from Wiki since last week, but the control characters were always printed along with the text, and the font remained small. In desperation, I consulted Wiki for advice, and it suggested a problem between Mojave and DOSBox 2026. That's why I've reverted to 2023. What would you advise me to do? Should I use -Print or -Print before proceeding?

I have no idea what you mean with -print. There is no such DOSBox-X flag.

As I said, the config you showed simply cannot work. If you get control characters in your output, then you selected either the wrong printer model in the DOS application.

Or if you are using an Epson dot-matrix printer in the DOS application, you are not using the DOSBox-X emulated printer.

Or in case you have selected in the DOS application a Postscript or PCL based printer and having DOSBox-X write the output to a raw file, you must use a separate application on the host to convert from whatever printer format to PDF

Unfortunately, I misspoke. The question should be: if I only want to run Clipper's calculation and printing programs, should I use DOSBox-X or DOSBox-X-Print? I've been using DOSBox for years, but it's now causing problems with my Macbook M1, Mojave or Tahoe, and printing to PDF files.

Unfortunately, I set the wrong configuration here. Here is the current version:

It works, but I can't find a way to change the font. There's a Fonts folder with various TTF fonts in the program directory, where the DOSBox-X application is also located.
No matter which TTF font I set under "fonts = ", nothing changes. What am I doing wrong?

The provided config output is not formatted correctly, making it hard to read. And you still seem to have an invalid options that does not exist for the [printer] section, namely font =. Here are the valid option for the [parallel] and [printer] sections as specified also on the wiki.

The expected TrueType fonts filenames are hardcoded as specified on the Wiki. But you can manipulate it by putting a correctly named TueType font file in the fontpath = location. Or this may be related to the issue you are seeing.

'm having trouble. I want to print from my old Clipper programs to a file using DOSBox-X on Mac iOS Tahoe. I've tried using SET PRINTER TO LPT1-4 or -File and Epson or PCL control characters to create different font sizes, but either nothing is printed or the control characters are printed but not executed. Before Mojave, I was able to print to a PDF file without any problems for years and then print it on my HP6950. After almost three weeks of trying and reading the wiki, I'm out of ideas. I would appreciate any help or an example configuration. I can't even format a test file with just a few lines.
