Short Summary

i updated my system to Kubuntu 26.04 LTS (before that i had 25.10 and everything worked fine) and Kando wont open and i dont get any kind of log in the Chrashed Processes Viewer.

Steps to Reproduce the Issue

i would guess updating to Kubuntu 26.04

v2.3.0

Installation Method

Via an installer downloaded from a release on GitHub

Desktop Environment

KDE on Wayland

Environment Version

KDE Plasma 6.6 on Kubuntu 26.04 LTS

Hi there! Are you sure that Kando does not start? As mentioned in the changelog, you may have to rebind the shortcuts for Kando.

So just open the settings of Kando and edit one of the shortcut IDs to make the global shortcut portal pop up and rebind the shortcuts there. After that, it should work again.

My problem is I can't open the settings or use one of my shortcuts. Everytime I try to open the settings it shows the logo and indicates that is it loading but right after it it magically disappears and the shortcuts don't work

Just a blind guess - can you also install the flatpak version from flathub? On my test I installed that first. Maybe this changed something?

The flatpack works perfectly fine.

And the non-flatpak version still doesn't work? Maybe something changed as your system now knows more about Kando's app-id...

After i reinstalled the non flatpak it worked but now the system only shows me the flatpak in the Menu editor. But i was able to export my shortcuts from the .deb in the flatpak
