Search with priority given to a geographic position does not sort results as expected in release 1.0.0

What result did you get?

Places (in China, Russia) far from the specified position (Central Europe) appear at the beginning of the results list. The order of items is almost, but not quite, the same as without the position request parameter.

What result did you expect?

Streets and settlements close to the position are prioritized. The first three results of the same search in release 0.7.4 (OpenSearch version) are:
