[UX/UI Audit] Comprehensive Usability Review and Redesign Proposal

Hi everyone!

My name is Gabriel Amador. I am a UX/UI Designer and co-founder of Donobelo, a creative agency based in Mexico City.

Last year, I had the opportunity to work on a project using OSM Tracker. After discussing the app's potential with @jamescr, I have decided to join the team as a volunteer UX/UI Designer. My goal is to help modernize the user experience, ensuring the tool remains intuitive, accessible, and robust for high-stakes field work.

UX/UI Audit & Figma Workspace

I have consolidated the diagnosis and proposed solutions into a Figma file, organized specifically to allow the technical team to review the logic and heuristics behind every suggested change.

The workspace is structured into 4 key sections:

• Findings: Visual evidence using screenshots of the current application to highlight specific friction points.
• Classification: Technical evaluation of each finding based on Severity (S) and Ease of Change (F) metrics.
• Heuristics & Suggestions: Detailed analysis based on Nielsen’s Usability Principles, accompanied by technical alternatives and their justifications.
• Priority: A strategic action plan designed to address the most critical and viable issues first.

My intention is for this audit to serve as the roadmap for our upcoming implementations. I am eager to hear your feedback!
