How to set initial value to a field when the value is coming from API

Currently I have a form which consist of one field which will show the initial value when the API returns value. How can I achieve that?
Note: If the API fails I want to show a full screen error.

I would solve that by creating a parent cubit above your form cubit. In this parent cubit call an API to get the value. If request succeed, emit a state with prepared form cubit, otherwise emit error state. Let me know if that answers your question
