How do I limit a folder name to 100 without messing w the config file(so in the command itself)?

Want to download a manga but it has both the original and translated name in the title and it surpasses the limit and I keep getting the syntax-error.

You need to use slicing (see String Formatting) in the folder field name for the directory option (see format). For example, in the terminal in Linux:

gallery-dl --option directory="[\"{title[:100]}\"]" "URL"

-o is the short version:

gallery-dl -o directory="[\"{title[:100]}\"]" "URL"
