The kerning for the lowercase r seems to be spaced too widely on the right side of the glyph for several pairings; a/e/o seem to be the worst offenders. See the image below for one example. This doesn't affect the italic styles. Could this possibly be an issue with the right side bearing of the glyph being too wide?
For those looking for a workaround, I was able to make the r look a lot more presentable by setting the right side bearing to 18 in fontforge (this is what the bold file, which looks OK out of the box, uses).
