[BUG] ML4W Starter 2 install instructions not clear when starting from TTY

Can't install the dotfiles via the dotfiles installerl

To Reproduce
Create a zero desktop system
clone the starter kit
run setup.sh
You get a working hyprland config but can't run the dotfiles installer

Expected behavior
The dotfiles should be installable from a script at CLI

Just a note. This page reference the older version wiki. Which I suspect you are updating. However, at the moment it says to run install.sh There is no such file on v2

So I started firefox, installed the dotfiles installer. Run it, paste the URL. It sees the info. When I select download dotfiles the flatpak app exits without installing anything

Can you try to run the installer again and paste the url? Sometimes it works the second time.
But I see, there is still an issue.

@dwilliam62 And is git installed on your system? Please add also the launch command of your terminal in the Dotfiles Installer Preferences Dialog.

You can also run the app with flatpak run com.ml4w.dotfilesinstaller from the terminal to see maybe error messages.

After updating the app it doesn't crash I get the prompt to install but it doesn't start the install

If I select run setup I get that error on the right "No command given"

Same issue, linux newb here running arch on a VM. I get an instant crash on the app and while running it on the terminal no proper error message. I had it go through once earlier this day but it just showed me that it did stuff but actually didn't do anything. No error message, no crash logs.

I get a force stop message popup for the first few times and then that stops appearing too.

Same issue, linux newb here running arch on a VM. I get an instant crash on the app and while running it on the terminal no proper error message. I had it go through once earlier this day but it just showed me that it did stuff but actually didn't do anything. No error message, no crash logs.

I get a force stop message popup for the first few times and then that stops appearing too.

Today he released an updated flatpak app. So for me it didn't crash anymore but didn't install anything either. "progress" haha

I'll update my app and see if I can weasel an error message or crash log out of it

or ill just spend tons of time configuring hyprland myself :(

yeah so i found warnings that tell me stuff about gtk labels over lapping or such ill add it here

seems similar to dwilliam62's warnings, some kind of resolution problem. might not be related to the installation process at all tbh, might be a ui rendering bug.

also, i found that this starter used to work by git cloning, can we still do that for a temporary work around? Edit git cloning just runs the setup script and tells you to use the dotfile installer now

Some extra info from my end, i cant seem to install wlogout on my own since it needs an aur and i cant get paru or yay working either
. Could that cause some kind of issue?

Please open the preferences and add your terminal launch command. I will add a notification when the command isn’t defined.
