and run

markdown-table-formatter --columnpadding 1 test.md 

which gives

No markdown table formatting has been applied.

When adding an empty line at the top, it works as it should.

markdown-table-formatter is just a wrapper of https://github.com/darkriszty/MarkdownTablePrettify-VSCodeExt , please can you declare the issue there ?

Then once fixed, i'll upgrade the dependency here

@nvuillam, I don't think it is a markdown-table-prettify issue.

In VSCode, when I use the extension, it fixes the file.

Also, when I use the cli via

markdown-table-prettify < test.md

it gives me the correct table.
