Starting a thread to discuss the SSI Reproducibility Framework shared by Jo a few weeks ago.

My random notes / thoughts:

Education and Training

• Source control training - carpentries.
• Some basic mandatory training in reproducibility? Maybe just the basics to understand and be made aware of the resources that are available.

Incentives

• Pinned code repositories.
• Code badge? Replicapable, Reproducible etc.
• Reproducibility showcases? Connects / seperate session.

Modelling and mentoring

• Monday club.

Review and feedback

• Code run session.

Expert involvement and advice

• Dedicate role? Reproducibility champion? Training for such a role?

Ideas on how to run assessment

• Ask various people from different areas of the organisation their opinion?

Other Ideas

• Hub page for reproducibility
  • Point to infastructure like github
  • Links to training materials and resources
  • Links to community forum etc.

Hub page is a nice idea, (though a drawback is it's all internal-only!)

The Data Management team have a really nice presence there, have expressed interest in adding material on packaging and citing software to their pages. We could

• extend their nicely-maintained area of the Hub
• link out to material curated by others (like the (CodeRefinery)[https://coderefinery.org/] workshops)
• point people to one of the forums here :D

Ah, sorry @metazool I missed this post, thanks for linking! (Part of the "it's difficult to know where to put things like this" problem @jmarshrossney talks about in the reasons for creating our own github org!)
