Press Outreach #62

Description

@resistdesign

Press Outreach: Send the press release and kit to targeted media outlets and influencers.

Targets include:

  • Game development news sites – Gamasutra/Game Developer, 80.lv, IndieGames.com, even
broader tech sites like TechCrunch or VentureBeat (they might be interested if pitched as “twowoman team launches tool to simplify open-source game development”). The press release
should be emailed with a brief personal note to each outlet.
  • Blender community sites – BlenderNation (they often feature new addons; we should submit
news to them, highlighting how FPE benefits Blender users), BlenderArtists forum news
    section.
  • Godot news – contact the Godot team to see if they can mention FPE in their news or social
feed. Godot’s official Twitter or newsletter might amplify significant community projects. Also,
the Godot Asset Library entry will make it visible to engine users.
  • YouTubers/Streamers (more on this in Partnerships section) – ideally, some influencers will
have been given early access and can release their videos around launch day or soon after.
For instance, if Gamefromscratch or another YouTuber agrees, they could publish a review or
tutorial of FPE on launch day, acting as a huge funnel of users. We will coordinate with any
willing content creators so that their schedule aligns with launch for maximum buzz.

Some YouTubers:

  • Gamefromscratch: A YouTuber/blogger known for covering a wide range of game dev tools and
engines (including Godot). He often does first-look reviews of new tools. We can provide him the
press kit and a personal note like “Your audience might be interested in this Blender-Godot workflow
tool; here’s a demo you can try.” If he features FPE in a video or article, that could reach tens of
    thousands of devs .
  • GDQuest (Nathan Lovato): GDQuest produces high-quality Godot tutorials and has a large
following. While they typically focus on their own content, they might be interested in a community
tool that empowers Godot users. Perhaps propose a collaboration: e.g., GDQuest could do a guest
tutorial on “Using Blender and FPE for Level Design” as part of their content, or we write a guest
article for their site. Offering to share any source files or providing support would make it easier for
    them.
  • FinePointCGI (DevDuck, etc.): There are mid-sized channels like FinePointCGI, DevDuck, or others
that specifically do Godot tips and tricks. These creators often look for new topics to cover. We’ll send
them a brief explaining FPE’s value and how it can save time, along with an angle for a video (“5
essential Godot add-ons for faster dev” or a dedicated FPE tutorial).
