anyways thats just a question, should have used discussions.
I am not relying on your player just getting a hint if I can use gstreamer for HLS reliably in my project..

In theory HLS seek should work in GStreamer... If it doesn't with gst-play-1.0 I would suggest to open an issue in https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/gstreamer/gstreamer/-/issues
